Do you travel to me, or do I come to you?
Both. Glam By Urusa is a mobile makeup artist, so Urusa can travel to your home, hotel or venue anywhere in Durham Region and the Greater Toronto Area with a full professional kit. There is also a private home-based salon in Durham Region if you would rather come to her. Let her know which you prefer when you enquire.
Which areas do you serve?
The home salon is based in Durham Region and serves Oshawa, Whitby, Ajax, Pickering, Courtice, Bowmanville, Clarington, Brooklin, Uxbridge and Port Perry. Mobile service covers the wider Greater Toronto Area including Toronto, Scarborough, North York, Markham, Richmond Hill, Vaughan, Mississauga and Brampton. Travel further afield can usually be arranged.
Do you offer a bridal trial?
Yes. A bridal trial is strongly recommended and is usually booked four to eight weeks before the wedding. It is a relaxed session to test your look in daylight and in photographs, adjust the eye, skin finish and lip, and agree the hair before the day itself.
How far in advance should I book?
For weddings, as early as you can. Peak wedding season in Ontario runs from May to October and popular dates are often reserved six to twelve months ahead. For non-bridal bookings, two to four weeks is usually comfortable, though last-minute enquiries are always worth sending.
Do you do hair as well as makeup?
Yes. Glam By Urusa is a makeup and hair service, so both can be booked together with a single artist. That includes blowouts, curls and soft waves, sleek straight styling, and updos and half-updos for brides and the wedding party.
Do you work with all skin tones and skin types?
Yes. The kit is built to cover a full range of deep to fair skin tones and undertones, with foundation, concealer and colour matching done in person. Products are chosen to suit oily, dry, mature and sensitive skin, and to photograph well under flash.
Do you offer hijab-friendly makeup and styling?
Yes. Urusa works with hijab-wearing clients and is comfortable working around the hijab, styling to suit how it will be pinned and draped, and keeping the setting and finish appropriate for a long event.
How much do your services cost?
Pricing depends on the service, the number of people, the date and the travel involved, so quotes are given per booking. Send an enquiry with your date, location and what you need and you will receive a full quote.
Do you offer makeup for the whole bridal party?
Yes. Bridesmaids, mothers of the bride and groom, sisters and guests can all be added to a bridal or semi-bridal booking. Include the number of people and the time everyone needs to be ready when you enquire so the morning can be scheduled properly.
